With Covid-19 cases on the rise across Ontario and now a province wide stay at home order until at least Feb. 11, the Board of Directors (BOD) has made the difficult decision to
shut down the Club for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.
As a 2020-21 Member, who has paid membership fees for draw 2 and 3, your options are:
- Full Refund
- Partial Refund with the balance donated to the HCC COVID-19 Relief Project
- Full donation to the HCC COVID-19 Relief Project
- Defer fees to apply to your membership for the 2021-2022 curling season.

Ensuring the safety of our staff and our members is the primary concern of the BOD at HCC. Early indications are that as the Province moves into phase 3 of reopening, our curling season can begin as regularly scheduled with some potential modifications like member flow, hygiene, playing the game (i.e. only 1 sweeper), scheduling, shared items etc. Of course this is subject to daily changes as we continue to fight the Covid-19 virus.
Our plan will be to open as usual October 18th with regular league play, although ‘regular’ might not be the best description. The key determinants around how and when we open, will be the guidelines for indoor sporting activities that will be communicated as part of Phase 3 opening by the Ministry of Health and Simcoe Muskoka Public Health.
We will keep you updated as we learn more. Please see the linked Return to Play Guidelines for a sense of the changes that you might expect this season. For a more detailed Curling Canada document and FAQs go the web-page CurlON – Return to play.
