Monday and Wednesday Mornings 8:00am-10:00am, 10:15am-12:15pm
Everyone is eligible to play in the Open Mixed Tag League. This is a non-competitive league with a social emphasis. There are no set teams, you simply arrive at the club on a Monday or Wednesday morning and you will be placed on a team for the up-coming game. You are asked to arrive 15 minutes before draw time to pick your position; you choose skip, vice, second or lead, and place your name tag on the board. New teams are made up from the pool of members present that day. Each week is a new team!
Wednesday Evenings 4:45pm 6:45pm & 8:45pm
The Wednesday Mixed league is a great way to meet people that are interested in curling. You can join with your spouse, significant other or as an individual. Hump day is the perfect day to hold a mixed night of curling, it helps you get over the mid week blues and get out and get some exercise. The league runs 2-3 draws with 7 ends per game, from 4:45 – 6:30, 6:45 – 8:30 and 8:45 to 10:30. You will play at one of these times each week. The conveners make up the teams for each draw (7-week session). It is a very social league with the opportunity to play with and against different people. The number of early and late games is split evenly throughout each draw.
Thursday Evenings 7:00pm (1st draw 7:30)
Our Thursday evening Choose Your Own Team league is for both men and women and gives members the opportunity to enter as part of a team. Individuals can also register and we will assist in placing them on a team as available. Teams can be all female, all male or mixed. Played as one season-long draw, this more competitive environment gives you an opportunity to play as a rink over the course of an entire season, getting to know your teammates and perhaps preparing for entry in other bonspiels across Muskoka.
Friday Afternoons 1:00pm & 3:00pm
The Friday Afternoon Mixed curlers have many different skill levels but enjoy curling together because of the social aspects of the game. Many of the curlers are retired and still enjoy curling in this setting which allows them to curl together in a less competitive atmosphere. The members are put into different teams three times during the season. This gives everyone a chance to curl with a variety of people. Husbands and wives can curl together. The winning teams are celebrated after each draw and get their picture displayed on the scoreboard.
Friday Evenings 6:30 and 8:30pm (2 Draws this season!)
This Social league is as casual as you can get! Enter as an individual and we will put you on a team or enter your own team and play with friends and family. There is an individual fee and a single team fee that allows as many curlers as you like. Rotate team members around throughout the season if you like and manage shift schedules and kids activities. Of course only 4 are out on the ice at a time but why not bring the whole gang and make it a night out. Take turns on the ice. This is great for those who cannot commit to every Friday night curling.
Sunday Afternoon Developmental League 2:00pm (1st draw 2:30pm)
The Sunday Afternoon Developmental league runs in the second and third draws. This league is focused on development of skills whether that is refining your delivery or learning the strategy as a new skip or vice. The league will have guest coaches that will provide advice, guidance and coaching throughout the season. Many of the Curling 101 graduates will be comfortable in this league to give you more time to understand the game and your role on the team. Brand new curlers who have missed our 101 session can also participate in this developmental league. The goal will be to complete 6 ends of curling over 2 hours and have some fun while we are learning the nuances of the sport of curling.
